Football Game Preview: Fox Chapel Foxes vs. East Allegheny Wild Cats

The Fox Chapel Foxes will head out on the road to take on the East Allegheny Wild Cats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Fox Chapel is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.

Fox Chapel is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Shaler Area on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Foxes came up short against the Titans, falling 35-14. While the Foxes had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Titans 14-7.

Despite the defeat, Fox Chapel got top-tier performance from Max Melocchi, who picked up 70 receiving yards and one score, and also rushed for 46 yards and one touchdown.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 49-19, which was the final score in East Allegheny's tilt against Freeport on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Wild Cats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 385th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 134th).

Fox Chapel's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for East Allegheny, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 2-7.

Fox Chapel skirted past East Allegheny 16-14 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Foxes since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
