Basketball Recap: Owensville Comes Up Short

Owensville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Nevada Tigers, falling 57-36. While losing is never fun, the Dutchmen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 339th, while the Tigers are ranked 53rd).

Owensville's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Nevada, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-3.

Owensville will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Vienna at 7:30 p.m. on February 3rd. As for Nevada, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 68-36 loss against Webb City on the 24th.
