Recap: East Laurens Falcons vs. Treutlen Vikings
The East Laurens Falcons scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They breezed by Treutlen at home to the tune of 78-46. The result was nothing new for East Laurens, who have now won five matchups by 23 points or more so far this season.
East Laurens got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was McKayela Tanner out in front who scored 21 points along with eight assists and five rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Tanner has scored at least 25% of East Laurens' points. Another player making a difference was Jayla Givens, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds.
The win was the fourth in a row for East Laurens, bringing their record for this year to 6-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.5 points per game. As for Treutlen, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.
East Laurens will play host again and welcome Johnson County, where tip off is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Treutlen and Telfair County will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Telfair County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 32 on Friday.
