Basketball Game Preview: Islands Sharks vs. Woodville-Tompkins Wolverines + How To Watch

Islands is 0-4 against Woodville-Tompkins since November of 2020 but things could change on Friday. The Sharks will take on the Wolverines in a holiday battle at 8:30 p.m.

Islands fought the good fight in their overtime game against Groves on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 54-49 to the Rebels.

Meanwhile, Woodville-Tompkins got the win against Ridgeland Secondary Academy Of Excellence on Saturday by a conclusive 59-35. The Wolverines have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 24 points or more this season.

Woodville-Tompkins has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Islands, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-4.

Things could have been worse for Islands, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 58-44 loss to Woodville-Tompkins in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Can the Sharks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
