            Softball Recap: Mountain View Bruins vs. Grand County Red Devils        
        
		
        
        
            After flying high against Provo  on Saturday, Mountain View came back down to earth. The Mountain View Bruins fell just short of the Grand County Red Devils by a score of  6-5 on Saturday. If the Bruins were looking for revenge after losing  8-1 to the Red Devils when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
 Sophie Stoddard was cooking despite her team's loss,   scoring a  run while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was  Callie Huff, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while  getting on base  in all three of her plate appearances.
 Even though they lost, Mountain View  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .533. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Grand County only posted  an  OBP of  .296.
Mountain View now  has a losing record of 1-2. As for Grand County, the  win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.
 Looking ahead, Mountain View will be taking part in a tournament against Judge Memorial Catholic  at 2:00  p.m.  on Saturday. As for Grand County, they will be playing at home against Provo  at 2:00  p.m.  on Saturday. Provo has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.25  runs per game on average), something Grand County will no doubt try to take advantage of.
