Volleyball Recap: Vianney Comes Up Short in High-Profile Match with O'fallon

Vianney is ranked highly in their home state and on Saturday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of O'Fallon. The Golden Griffins took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers. The Golden Griffins were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Mitchell Jugo paced Vianney's offense, picking up seven kills. Jugo got some help from Connor Johnson and his 14 assists.

Vianney's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5-1. As for O'Fallon, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.

Vianney will challenge De Smet Jesuit at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Spartans will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Golden Griffins surely won't give up without a fight. As for O'Fallon, they will face off against St. Louis University at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Junior Bills will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight.
