Basketball Game Preview: West Brunswick Trojans vs. Laney Buccaneers

After both having extra time off, the West Brunswick Trojans and the Laney Buccaneers will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. West Brunswick is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

West Brunswick is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Hoggard last Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. West Brunswick was outmatched by Hoggard and fell 66-13. The Trojans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-7.

Saniya Stanley was West Brunswick's leading scorer, having posted seven points. Stanley also led the team in rebounds with nine.

Meanwhile, Laney made easy work of Ashley last Friday and carried off a 54-32 victory.

West Brunswick's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Laney, their win bumped their record up to 8-6.

West Brunswick came up short against Laney when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 45-36. Can West Brunswick avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
