Baseball Recap: Camden Hills Comes Up Short

Camden Hills extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping their season record down to 2-9 in the process. They fell 3-0 to the Mt. Blue Cougars. If the Windjammers were looking for revenge after losing 7-1 to the Cougars when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Mt. Blue, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games.

For Mt. Blue's part, not much got past Aiden Wilkins, who gave up just two hits and racked up 11 Ks to keep Camden Hills off the board. Those 11 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for Wilkins.

On the hitting side, Mt. Blue's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ben Wrigley, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

Camden Hills didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Brunswick on the 21st. As for Mt. Blue, they have also already played their next game, a 7-1 win against Lewiston on the 21st.
