Softball Recap: Mcclintock Beats Metro Tech for Their Seventh Straight Victory

McClintock extended their winning streak to seven on Tuesday, bumping their season record up to 12-3 in the process. They were the clear victors by a 26-1 margin over the Metro Tech Knights. Considering the Chargers have won 11 games by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

RyenHope Cozakos was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Cozakos was even better at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

In other batting news, Audrina Chacon was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February. Trinity Sepulveda was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.

McClintock was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .548. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Metro Tech only posted a batting average of .333.

As for Metro Tech, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

On Metro Tech's side, they saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emery Corral, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run. Melody Calderon Flores also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: McClintock beat Metro Tech by a score of 29-2 on Thursday.
