Softball Recap: Lockport Victorious

Lockport lost to Neuqua Valley back in April of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Porters came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 7-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Porters.

Bridget Faut spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on five hits and racked up 12 Ks. Those 12 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Liliana Janeczko, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Alexis Vander Tuuk, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI.

Lockport's win bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Neuqua Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.

Coincidentally, Lockport and Neuqua Valley will both be playing South Elgin the next time they take the field. The Wildcats will host the Storm at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Porters will play them later in the day, at 2:00 p.m.
