Astoria-Table Grove VIT's Tyler Engel rumbled for the longest rushing play in Prairieland - Black this season in his game against Cuba/Spoon River Valley last week. Engel scampered for 81 yards on the play and finished with 163 on the day as his team bested the Wildcats.
Fans got a thrill when Alex Briney and Engel connected against Cuba/Spoon River Valley. The connection was good for 84 yards, the longest such play in the league this season.
Astoria-Table Grove VIT's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Rebels feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Briney has thrown for 1,019 yards and 11 touchdowns this season, while Engel has 38 catches for 626 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Abingdon/Avon takes on second place Lewistown.
Adding to the longest winning streak in Prairieland - Black this week, Abingdon/Avon beat Peoria Heights 54-0. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
