Football Recap: Bloomsburg Takes Down Loyalsock Township in a Playoff Battle

Bloomsburg had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Everything went their way against the Loyalsock Township Lancers on Friday as they made off with a 34-13 win. Considering the Panthers have won six games by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Leading Bloomsburg to victory were Jharee Moore-Stewart and Wyatt Brosious. Moore-Stewart gained 155 total yards and three touchdowns, while Brosious rushed for 41 yards and two TDs. That's the most rushing touchdowns Brosious has posted since back in September.

Bloomsburg didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Krue Wheadon and Moore-Stewart. Moore-Stewart got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Despite the loss, Loyalsock Township still got an impressive performance from Jalil Coates, who rushed for 164 yards and one score, and also picked up 68 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Bloomsburg's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.8 points over those games. As for Loyalsock Township, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-6.

Coming up, Bloomsburg will venture away from home to face off against Southern Columbia Area at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least 31 points in their last three contests. Loyalsock Township does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
