Christian faced East Grand Rapids in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Eagles fell 2-0 to the Pioneers. The Eagles' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Grace Goodyke paced Christian's offense, picking up five kills. Goodyke got some help from Piper Cebulski and her eight assists. Cebulski was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Christian's loss dropped their record down to 13-5. As for East Grand Rapids, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 20-4.
