Football Recap: Denver West Takes a Loss

The matchup between Denver West and Manual on Tuesday hardly resembled the 19-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Cowboys were outmatched by the Thunderbolts and fell 54-6. The Cowboys lost against the Thunderbolts in their previous head to head back in September of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 19-0 score last time.

Manual's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Caylei Walker led the charge by throwing for 147 yards and six touchdowns while completing 86.7% of her passes. Walker didn't just play on offense: she also made one tackle and defended two passes in addition to snagging an interception. Another player making a difference was Lelani Mack, who gained 69 total yards and two touchdowns.

This is the second loss in a row for Denver West and nudges their season record down to 5-4. As for Manual, they pushed their record up to 7-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.
