Football Recap: Weddington Starts Season with Victory Against Mooresville + How To Watch

Weddington gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 31-10 margin over the Mooresville Blue Devils. The Warriors pushed the score to 31-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Blue Devils cut but never quite recovered from.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Weddington to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kelson Tate, who picked up 138 receiving yards and one score. Those 138 receiving yards gave Tate a new career-high. Brody Anson was in the mix too, providing Weddington with two TDs.

Weddington didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Mooresville to a completion percentage of just 37.5%. The Warriors weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 59.1%.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Weddington will host Myers Park at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mooresville, they will welcome Sun Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
