Volleyball Recap: Fort Collins Comes Up Short

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Fort Collins and Rocky Mountain have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Tuesday. The Lambkins lost 3-0 to the Lobos. The defeat continues a trend for the Lambkins in their meetings with the Lobos: they've now lost three in a row.

The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-16, 25-18.

Caitlin Cripe paced Fort Collins' offense, picking up eight kills. Cripe got some help from Josephine Rubenstein and her 18 assists. Rubenstein and Cripe didn't slow down when it came to serving: they led the team with three apiece.

Fort Collins' loss dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Rocky Mountain, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-11.

Coincidentally, Fort Collins and Rocky Mountain will both be playing Loveland the next time they take the court. The Lambkins will host the Red Wolves at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Lobos will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
