Baseball Recap: Coweta Takes a Loss

Coweta lost against Collinsville on Monday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Tigers lost 10-2 to the Cardinals. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Coweta got a good showing from Braxton Barnes, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Barnes has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Jackson Plyler was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Brayden Floyd was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Coweta's defeat dropped their record down to 16-12. As for Collinsville, they have been performing well recently as they've won 15 of their last 18 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Coweta will venture away from home to challenge Oktaha at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Collinsville, they will head out to take on Bartlesville at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
