Portage hasn't had much luck against Valparaiso recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Indians will host the Vikings at 6:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Portage managed to slip by Michigan City the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Indians were dealt a 43-3 loss at the hands of the Wolves on Friday. The home team had come away the winner the last six times Valparaiso and Merrillville had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Vikings were outmatched by the Pirates and fell 48-21. The defeat continues a trend for the Vikings in their meetings with the Pirates: they've now lost four in a row.

Portage's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Valparaiso, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.
