Yucca Valley has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will host the Chaffey Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Yucca Valley will be strutting in after a win while Chaffey will be coming in after a loss.
Yucca Valley is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They really took it to Desert Hot Springs for the full four quarters, racking up a 42-14 victory on the road. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-0.
Michael Ramos Jr was his usual excellent self, rushing for 91 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries, while also throwing for 190 yards on 11 of 19 attempts. Roderick Rogers was Ramos Jr's top target, picking up 80 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Chaffey was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 32-26 hit to the loss column at the hands of Rim of the World.
Despite the loss, Chaffey saw an underclassman step up: Alexis Almeida rushed for 91 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 36 receiving yards.
The win snapped Yucca Valley's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-3 record. As for Chaffey, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.
Yucca Valley took a serious blow against Chaffey when the teams last played back in August of 2019, falling 50-21.
