Soccer Game Preview: Decatur vs. West Plains

The Decatur Eagles will challenge the West Plains Wolves at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Decatur will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line.

Last Tuesday, Decatur beat Ranchview 4-2. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 64th, while Wolves are ranked 450th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, West Plains brought some dynamite into their most recent match. Everything went their way against Canyon last Friday as West Plains made off with a 6-1 victory. Benjamin Williamson was a massive factor in the win as he booted in three goals all by himself.

Decatur pushed their record up to 18-0-2 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 55 goals over those 11 contests. As for West Plains, their victory bumped their record up to 14-5-2.
