Softball Recap: Comfort Takes a Loss

Comfort was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-7 heartbreaker at the hands of the Llano Yellowjackets. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bobcats/Deer of the 16-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Ella Thiele spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and four unearned) runs on six hits.

At the plate, Comfort saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anna Munoz, who scored a run while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Another was Moorea Davis, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Comfort's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Llano, their record is now 5-12.

While Comfort had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
