Basketball Game Preview: Burlington-Edison Tigers vs. Lynden Lions

Burlington-Edison hasn't had much luck against Lynden recently, but that could start to change on Friday. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Burlington-Edison Tigers challenge the Lynden Lions at 7:15 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Burlington-Edison took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They blew past Oak Harbor, posting a 71-38 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Tigers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Lynden put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Sehome 63-36. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked tenth, while the Mariners are ranked 215th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lynden's win was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 22 points. As for Burlington-Edison, their victory bumped their record up to 8-4.

Burlington-Edison lost to Lynden on the road by a decisive 81-65 margin in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Burlington-Edison avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
