Baseball Game Preview: Eastmont Wildcats vs. Moses Lake Mavericks

For the second straight game, Eastmont will face off against Moses Lake. The Wildcats will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Mavericks at 4:00 p.m. Eastmont is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.

On Tuesday, Eastmont needed a bit of extra time to put away Moses Lake. They walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Mavericks.

Jack Swedburg was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has become a key player for Eastmont: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-9 otherwise. Swedburg was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April.

In other pitching news, Camden Schmitten tossed a big game, tossing 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Valente Barrios, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Izik Ontiveros, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Eastmont kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in seven consecutive games.

Eastmont's win bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Moses Lake, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-6.
