Mt. Pulaski and Illini Central are an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2016, but not for long. The Hilltoppers will square off against the Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mt. Pulaski will be strutting in after a win while Illini Central will be coming in after a loss.

On Thursday, Mt. Pulaski narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Jacksonville 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hilltoppers.

Mt. Pulaski had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 12-25, 25-19, 25-18.

Meanwhile, Illini Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to Edinburg.

While Illini Central ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-18.

Illini Central's loss dropped their record down to 4-26. As for Mt. Pulaski, their win bumped their record up to 16-12.

Mt. Pulaski beat Illini Central 2-0 in their previous meeting on Tuesday. Do the Hilltoppers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cougars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
