Football Recap: Trenton Trojans vs. Carlson Marauders

After losing to Carlson the last time they met, Trenton decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Trenton Trojans enjoyed a cozy 28-14 victory over the Carlson Marauders on Friday. Winning may never get old, but the Trojans sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Trenton had a senior duo take command as Ashton Rooney rushed for 116 yards and two touchdowns and Drew Carson rushed for 109 yards and a touchdown. Rooney's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his ninth straight game with at least 116 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Trenton wouldn't let Carlson keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Brock Culpepper was the leader in that area as all came courtesy of his dominant performance. He also set a new season high mark in total tackles with ten.

Trenton was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 254 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 235 rushing yards in nine consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Although Carlson took the loss, they still got scores from Joe Krolak and Brendan Stanley.
