Softball Recap: San Marcos Comes Up Short

San Marcos was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Burroughs Bears. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Royals of the 5-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2017.

San Marcos saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isa Malarkey, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

San Marcos' loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Burroughs, their record now sits at 11-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. San Marcos will head out to challenge Pacifica at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Royals are facing the Tritons at the right time seeing as the Tritons are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Burroughs, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Pasadena at 3:45 p.m. on the 15th.
