Basketball Game Preview: Kinston Vikings vs. North Lenoir Hawks

Having just played yesterday, the Kinston Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the North Lenoir Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Kinston's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

On Tuesday, Kinston didn't have too much trouble with East Duplin as they won 56-41. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 50th, while the Panthers are ranked 325th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, North Lenoir was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 61-40 to Southwest Onslow.

North Lenoir's loss dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Kinston, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Kinston against North Lenoir in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as the squad secured a 76-49 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Kinston since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
