Softball Game Preview: Danville Hawks vs. West Morgan Rebels

The Danville Hawks will challenge the West Morgan Rebels at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. West Morgan took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Danville, who comes in off a win.

Danville's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They came out on top against East Lawrence by a score of 5-0. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Hawks as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Izzy Guest made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two).

In other batting news, Jada Weaver was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Kennedy Borden was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Danville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as East Lawrence didn't got any hits.

Meanwhile, West Morgan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They came up short against Good Hope, falling 8-1.

West Morgan's loss dropped their record down to 1-12-1. As for Danville, their victory bumped their record up to 10-7.
