Shorecrest took an 11-run loss the last time they faced off against Shorewood, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Scots had just enough and edged out the Stormrays 14-13. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Scots have posted since March 25th.

The team relied heavily on Riu Hanrahan, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. That home run was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Nora Bennion, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

Shorecrest was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .378. They are 7-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Shorecrest's win bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Shorewood, with the defeat, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-5.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Shorecrest is set to challenge their familiar foe Edmonds-Woodway at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Shorewood will face off against rival Mountlake Terrace at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
