Volleyball Recap: Kerman Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Kerman waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Hanford West Huskies. This was a revenge game for the Lions: when they faced off against the Huskies on October 1st, they had to take a 3-2 defeat.

Kerman got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 30-32, 18-25, 25-11, 16-14.

Anya Bakholdin paced Kerman's offense, picking up 21 kills. Bakholdin got some help from Rebekah Evseff and her 41 assists. Evseff was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Despite the loss, Hanford West had strong showings from Jaylenne Valtierra, who had 40 digs and four assists, and Julianna Villasenor, who had 15 digs, 12 kills, and three aces. Villasenor is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had five or more in each of the last seven games she's played. Rose Agnew was another key player, getting 12 digs and two aces.

Kerman's record is now 25-8. As for Hanford West, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-9-3.

Kerman didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-2 win against Exeter on the 23rd. As for Hanford West, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Sierra Pacific on the 23rd.
