Basketball Game Preview: Michigan City Wolves vs. River Forest Ingots

The Michigan City Wolves will square off against the River Forest Ingots at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Michigan City has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since November 30.

In Thursday's Canine Competition, Michigan City didn't have enough. They had to suffer through a 67-32 loss at the hands of Crown Point. The Wolves were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-10.

Michigan City's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Nia Wilkins, who posted four points, and Minayah Cochran, who had four points.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for River Forest against Calumet New Tech on Friday as the squad secured a 48-19 victory. The match marked the Ingots' most dominant win of the season.

River Forest has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 9-10 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.5 points per game. As for Michigan City, their loss dropped their record down to 2-13.

Everything came up roses for Michigan City against River Forest in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, as the team secured a 75-28 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Michigan City since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
