Recap: Sleepy Hollow Horsemen vs. Rye Garnets
The Sleepy Hollow Horsemen fell victim to the Rye Garnets''s stalwart defense on Saturday and couldn't make it onto the board. They had to suffer through a rough 33-0 loss at the hands of the Garnets. Sleepy Hollow has struggled against Rye recently, as their match on Saturday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Rye got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was AJ Miller out in front who threw for 114 yards and two touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes. Rye also got help from Jake Kessner who showed off his sure hands for 85 receiving yards.
Sleepy Hollow's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Rye, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-2.
Sleepy Hollow will head out on the road to face off against Ramapo at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ramapo is on a three-game streak of home losses, Sleepy Hollow a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. Rye will take on Nyack at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Nyack will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 236th, while Rye is ranked 42nd).
