Basketball Recap: Dayspring Christian Academy Now 5-1 over Last Six Games

Dayspring Christian Academy won the last time they faced Covenant Christian Academy, and Noah Huxta did his part to make sure it happened again. The Dayspring Christian Academy Warriors put the hurt on Covenant Christian Academy with a sharp 57-34 victory on Friday thanks in part to Huxta, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 19 points in addition to six boards and six steals. He has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last eight times he's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Wesley Hussar, who posted six points. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

Dayspring Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.2 points per game. As for Covenant Christian Academy, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Dayspring Christian Academy will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on West Shore Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
