Basketball Game Preview: Newton Railroaders vs. Arkansas City Bulldogs

The Newton Railroaders will challenge the Arkansas City Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Newton is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Andover on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Newton was outmatched by Andover and fell 63-33. The game marked the Railroaders' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Arkansas City ended up a good deal behind Goddard on Tuesday and lost 63-47. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Newton's defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Arkansas City, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.
