Volleyball Recap: Bishop Verot Comes Up Short

Bishop Verot lost against Cardinal Mooney back in October of 2020 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Vikings fell 3-1 to the Cougars. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Bishop Verot started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-17, 25-15, 25-17.

Carley Himschoot paced Bishop Verot's offense, picking up ten kills. Himschoot got some help from Sidney Blackwood and her 15 assists. Sophie Mercado controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Bishop Verot's loss dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Cardinal Mooney, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season.

Bishop Verot didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Neumann on the 25th. As for Cardinal Mooney, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Berkeley Prep on the 1st.
