Soccer Game Preview: Greenbrier vs. Station Camp

The Greenbrier Bobcats will challenge the Station Camp Bison at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Greenbrier was handed a four-goal defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They beat White House by a goal, winning 4-3. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for Greenbrier considering their one-goal performance the contest before.

They hit White House with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Arjenn Cortez (2), William Kerr, and Henri Martinez.

Meanwhile, Station Camp faced Hendersonville in a battle between two of the state's top teams last Friday. The Bison never let the Commandos get on the board and left with a 3-0 win. Considering Station Camp have won ten games by more than two goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The victory (which was Station Camp's fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-2-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 26 goals over those four matchups. As for Greenbrier, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 5-11.

Greenbrier might still be hurting after the 9-0 loss they got from Station Camp when the teams last played back in April. Can the Bobcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
