Volleyball Game Preview: Colman-Egan C-E Hawks vs. Bridgewater/Emery Huskies

The Colman-Egan C-E Hawks will square off against the Bridgewater/Emery Huskies at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.

Colman-Egan is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of South Dakota's top teams: Chester, who was ranked fifth at the time (Colman-Egan was ranked 17th). The C-E Hawks lost 3-0 to the Flyers on Monday. The defeat continues a trend for the C-E Hawks in their meetings with the Flyers: they've now lost five in a row.

Colman-Egan was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Chester work for it, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-13, 25-22.

Meanwhile, Bridgewater/Emery put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Avon.

While Bridgewater/Emery won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The match finished with set scores of 28-26, 25-9, 25-16.

Bridgewater/Emery's win bumped their record up to 18-0. As for Colman-Egan, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 14-3.

Everything went Colman-Egan's way against Bridgewater/Emery in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, as Colman-Egan made off with a 3-0 victory. Will the C-E Hawks repeat their success, or do the Huskies have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
