Baseball Recap: Prairie du Chien Triumphs

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last three times Prairie du Chien and Dodgeville have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Thursday. The Blackhawks had just enough and edged out the Dodgers 6-4. This was payback for the Blackhawks, who suffered a 4-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Bryce Lenzendorf spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned runs on eight hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Prairie du Chien is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 3-4 otherwise.

At the plate, Abe Amundson was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Deacon Chesebro was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

The victory got Prairie du Chien back to even at 5-5. As for Dodgeville, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 10-2 record.

Coming up, Prairie du Chien will welcome Onalaska at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Dodgeville, they will face off against Wisconsin Heights at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
