Baseball Recap: Franklin Comes Up Short

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Friday as neither Franklin nor Ross made it on the board until the sixth inning. The Wildcats fell just short of the Rams by a score of 2-1. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Rams recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Luke Eyink spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up eight Ks.

Franklin now has a losing record of 10-11. As for Ross, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-7.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Franklin will take on rival Oakwood at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Ross is set to challenge their familiar foe Monroe at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Rams have won four straight at home, while the Hornets won six straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
