Baseball Game Preview: Maroa-Forsyth Trojans vs. Prairie Central Hawks

The Maroa-Forsyth Trojans will challenge the Prairie Central Hawks at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The timing is sure in Maroa-Forsyth's favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home while Prairie Central has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.

Maroa-Forsyth barely beat LeRoy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Trojans' pitchers stepped up to hand the Panthers a 6-0 shutout on Friday. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by six runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Prairie Central suffered their closest loss since April 15th on Friday. They fell just short of Fieldcrest by a score of 5-3.

Collin Hartman was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That stolen base marked the first that he has snagged this season. Another player making a difference was Easton Friedman, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Prairie Central's defeat dropped their record down to 5-21. As for Maroa-Forsyth, their win bumped their record up to 18-7.

Maroa-Forsyth skirted past Prairie Central 4-3 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Hawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
