Basketball Recap: The Gregory School Hawks vs. Cicero Prep Academy Centurions
The Gregory School was the 29-23 winner over Cicero Prep Academy when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Gregory School Hawks took a 43-27 bruising from the Cicero Prep Academy Centurions on Thursday.

Zena Smith and Rose Pisetsky certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Smith posted eight points and seven steals, while Pisetsky scored nine points along with six rebounds and five steals. Pisetsky is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games she's played.
Cicero Prep Academy found their leader in sophomore Ryleigh Weaver, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten boards. Those ten rebounds set a new season-high mark for Weaver. Another player making a difference was Catherine Johnson, who had four points in addition to six boards and three steals.
The Gregory School now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Cicero Prep Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-7.
The Gregory School won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against St. David at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Cicero Prep Academy, they will face off against Lincoln Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
