Basketball Recap: South Stanly Falls Despite Big Games from Kanija Colson and Briley Page

South Stanly was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 39th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost to the North Stanly Comets at home by a 44-30 margin. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rowdy Rebel Bulls this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 38-11 back in January.

Despite the loss, South Stanly had strong showings from Briley Page, who posted 16 points and five steals, and Kanija Colson, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine boards. That's the most steals Page has posted since back in November of 2023.

South Stanly's defeat dropped their record down to 0-18. As for North Stanly, they moved to 9-9 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Stanly has already played their next match (against Union Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. North Stanly has also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against Mount Pleasant.
