Preview: St. Michaels Saints vs. Cambridge-South Dorchester Vikings
St. Michaels is 0-10 against Cambridge-South Dorchester since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The St. Michaels Saints have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Cambridge-South Dorchester Vikings at 4:00 p.m. on February 12th. St. Michaels has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Last Thursday, St. Michaels was the victim of a rough 49-29 loss at the hands of The Gunston School.
Meanwhile, Cambridge-South Dorchester put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Friday. They blew past Arcadia 56-13 at home. Given Cambridge-South Dorchester's advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 119th in Maryland, while Arcadia is ranked 372nd in Virginia), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cambridge-South Dorchester to victory, but perhaps none more so than Le?asia Todd, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 20 rebounds. Todd is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least nine every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Damiya Henry, who scored 16 points along with seven steals.
St. Michaels' defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Cambridge-South Dorchester, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-6.
