Softball Recap: Caldwell Takes a Loss

Caldwell fell victim to Middleton and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Vikings, falling 21-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cougars of the 23-4 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2022.

Caldwell's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Middleton, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Caldwell will head out to face off against Payette at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Pirates have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11 runs per game on average), something the Cougars will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Middleton, they will venture away from home to challenge Columbia at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Vikings are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
