Breckenridge has gone 8-2 against Montabella recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Huskies will head out on the road to challenge the Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. Breckenridge is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.
Breckenridge not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since May 2nd (when they won 11-0). They put the hurt on Merrill with a sharp 17-6 win. Considering the Huskies have won nine matchups by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Leah Wale was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up six earned runs off nine hits. Those eight strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-5 with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Breckenridge got a massive performance out of Ava Colthorp, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most runs Colthorp has posted since back in April. Emma Tinson was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three runs and three RBI.
Meanwhile, Montabella was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat. They came up short against St. Charles, falling 14-1.
Montabella saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brianne Porter, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base. Katelyn Pifer also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Montabella's loss dropped their record down to 2-17. As for Breckenridge, the victory got them back to even at 14-14.
Montabella's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Breckenridge hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .328. It's a different story for Montabella, though, as they've only averaged .240. Will they be able to contain Breckenridge's hitters?
Breckenridge skirted past Montabella 3-2 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Huskies since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
