Smithfield has gone a perfect 8-0 against New Kent recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Packers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Trojans at 7:00 p.m.

Smithfield is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Tabb just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Thursday. They and the Tigers finished up their matchup with a 2-2 draw. The result kept Smithfield happy, as they haven't lost a game since April 3rd.

Meanwhile, New Kent was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They came up short against Jamestown, falling 9-1. While losing is never fun, New Kent can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 176th, while Jamestown are ranked second).

New Kent's goal came courtesy of Grayson Yates, who's now up to eight this season.

With that draw, Smithfield's record moves to 7-2-1. As for New Kent, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8-2.

Everything went Smithfield's way against New Kent in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Smithfield made off with a 3-0 win. Do the Packers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trojans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
