Softball Game Preview: St. Charles Bulldogs vs. Montrose Rams

The St. Charles Bulldogs will square off against the Montrose Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for St. Charles and seven for Montrose.

Fulton hit St. Charles with a five-run second inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bulldogs came up short against the Pirates, falling 12-2.

St. Charles saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Allison Zelinko, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Elizabeth Kolb also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Montrose's offense. They lost 12-0 to Byron on Monday. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Rams' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Montrose's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for St. Charles, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.
