Basketball Recap: Chanute Takes a Loss

Chanute was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Labette County Grizzlies 62-20. The match marked the Blue Comets' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Labette County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Amelia Carnahan led the charge by putting up 14 points and four steals. With that strong performance, Carnahan is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. Another player making a difference was Amery Baker, who posted ten points and five rebounds.

Chanute's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Labette County, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.

Chanute will head out on the road to square off against Pittsburg at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Labette County, they will host Fort Scott at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
