Softball Recap: Bland County Falls to Craig County in First Game of Season

Bland County unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 23-5 to the Craig County Rockets on Thursday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it ten in a row.

Emma Looney made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Presley Watters was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Craig County's victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-2.

Looking ahead, Bland County will challenge Fort Chiswell at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup will give Bland County their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season. Craig County will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Eastern Montgomery at 5:00 p.m. on April 1st.
