Preview: Stewart County Royal Knights vs. Terrell County Greenwave
Stewart County is 2-8 against Terrell County since December of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Stewart County Royal Knights will be playing in front of their home fans against the Terrell County Greenwave at 6:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Stewart County can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. Everything went their way against Mitchell County as Stewart County made off with a 60-37 victory. The victory was just what Stewart County needed coming off of a 72-52 defeat in their prior contest.
Meanwhile, Terrell County put the finishing touches on their eighth blowout victory of the season on Saturday. They breezed by Pataula Charter Academy at home to the tune of 72-21. With Terrell County ahead 40-10 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Terrell County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jamariana Smith led the charge by scoring ten points. Another player making a difference was Kalysia Lane, who scored 11 points.
Stewart County's victory bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Terrell County, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.
Things could have been worse for Stewart County, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 58-39 loss to Terrell County in their previous meeting back in December of 2023.
